First place: Ben Fisher getting dirty...

Get dirty

We had some awesome entries that really made me want to go and ride in the mud again, nothing like a good mud adventure and being forced to strip off before coming in the house which we assume will have happened to some of you who entered! RESULTS: We got our judges to pick their top three photos from the list, put them in order, and then we gave first place, 3 points, second place 2 points and 3rd place 1 point. After the 5 judges sent in their results, we added up the totals and the results...

Askham & Beda Fell

On Saturday myself, Brett and Scott headed out to Pooley Bridge to do a variation of the Askham loop. We parked up near Roehead at the end of the small road and headed straight through the big gate and up the bridleway, we then took a right turn off and followed the same bridleway down to Howtown as we would do on the Askham loop. Once we had dropped back onto the road we turned left and headed out toward Martindale. The road climbs quite steeply up and passed The Parish Church of St Peter...
nukeproof mega

Nukeproof Mega Long term review

8 months ago I bought and built up my own Nukeproof Mega so I thought I would write up a few words to share my experiences with it over this time. The Mega is a 150mm travel bike that can be paired up with a 150mm to 170mm travel fork up front and is billed as their all mountain bike designed to be ridden up and down (the emphasis on going down). Mine hasn’t been built up to the lightest spec but i’m trying to cut weight where possible without removing the functionality that I like. Since it’s...

Snowcamp Rally 2012

Jackrabbitt got invited to go back and represent at the SnowCamp Rally, after winning the fundraiser trophy in 2009. When one of the lads pitched it to a few of us, we were all interested, so we decided to stick three teams together, Jackrabbitt North, Jackrabbitt South and Jackrabbitt Yorkshire. The format was: Arrive at 830 in Hemel Hempstead dome car park, set off at 9, visit all 5 indoor English snow slopes in one day and end up back at the start 11 hours later. The competition was to see...

The well deserved "Thanks"

The new branding and the new site has been a long time in the planning, and a lot of hard work, but we would never have got here without the aid of a few people. First and foremost, I would like to say a massive thank you to Oli Bentley from Split (www.split.co.uk) a design company based in Leeds. Oli has helped us develop the new branding and website, with the hard job of taking an existing community of people, taking their much loved logo and creating a new one, one that they could also love...
Yadmoss 2011

Snowboarding in Cumbria: Yadmoss

Heading out into the Cumbrian hills we came accross the snow...fortunately we had our Yadmoss season passes to hand, and just by chance our snowboards in the boot…OK…it wasn't just a coincidence! Good community spirit and rubbish snow made for an awesome day!   To see more visit : www.yadmoss.co.uk/

Grizedale Forest

Well, I have always had my gripes with Grizedale forest, the trail centre, average fun but not very rewarding for how much effort you put in. However, Richard and Anthony went a wandering a few weeks back and found some great descents. So for Uncle Tony's birthday we went out to find them again. 13 ish miles and some great descents later...my legs were done and my opinion changed! Before I go I will just say that having a 38t and a 26t on the front made life a lot easier. Shimano XT cranks......

Last day of sun?

Hopefully that is the last we will see of the sun for a while and HOPEFULLY it will absolutely dump it down over the next week, we need it for sure. As much fun as the current riding conditions are we need a top up. We headed up with our new found seasonnaire friends from Sugar Mountain, Carol and Stu, and had a well good day, jibbing...falling...speeding etc. Really good guys to ride with as they are a lot more experienced than us and it is the best way to learn. (I also find that associating pain with mistakes is a quick way to learn, but it doesn't help you figure out the correct way of...
